Master Charles had lived in North Wales near the Snowdon mountains. In His paperwork when He passed on, were details of a walk that He had wanted to do with me ... or that is, i presumed such as the details of the walk were in the folder of things marked, "L - To do."
It has taken a couple of years, but a friend and i have just completed that walk. It was a bit of an odd one as it seems that some of the places mentioned in the decade year old notes were a bit different, but we managed it.
As part of getting a bit lost with the walk and missing a turn, we ended up on a spittle of high up land where i had previously scratched my devotion to Him in the slate after He had passed on ... but in the interviening years the weather had worn it away. my tears were hidden from the world by the rain.
The walk finished at a pub which, unfortuntely for us was shut, but we went to an old cafe in Llanberis called Pete's Eats which many devoted climbers will probably have heard of. After a good mug of tea, we then left ... the past behind me, the future awaiting ... my heart and chest feeling a solid mixture of emotions as i drove the familiar roads out of the area and onwards to our next destination. i deliberately stayed away from His old home ... now the property of someone new.
my emotions will take some time to steady. There is only the one request now to be completed, and this is the picture which will be taken in a few months time. Don't ask me what my emotions are ... i have little idea of them myself right now.
